REVISED = WITH OUR NEW SYSTEM

Best is to click the "upload file/photo" button you see at the bottom of the page where you can enter a new post. It is just below it.

The other way is to use the little image icon you see above in the text editor area next to the film strip. That only works if an image appears somewhere online and you have the URL. Otherwise, use the "upload file/photo" button you see here.

Click the image below for a larger view of the instructions. This explains how to ATTACH an image. If you currently have an image on another site use the "Img" tag before and after your image URL.

Please be advised that images must now be under 400kb.

I finally got around to replacing the image that was lost a while back. Hopefully this will help for those of you who don't know how to attach/post pictures.

    Re: How To Post Pictures.

if your talking about adding photos in a reply per say all you have to do is goto the bottom of the post and click the box that says Post Reply.

Pictures must be uploaded to the forum and cannot be copy and pasted in.

Scroll down towards the bottom Below all the Smilies and you'll see filename.

Click the browse box & put your cursor on where the file is located to open the folder or picture.

Once the proper filename is showing in the box click OPEN.

The entire long butt filename will be showing behind your browse box.

Click just below it (to the right) on the add file...and your file will now upload to the forum.

    RESIZING WITH PAINT

The way I resize my jpegs is using windows paint.

With Vista OS this is how I do it ;)

Right Click on the photo>Open With>Paint>Image>Resize/Skew>Resize Horizontal (use 30)...Resize Vertical (Use 30)>Click Ok>Click Red X on top left to close>Click Ok>Click Save

AND THEN just upload from there :)

    USING PAINT TO REDUCE SIZE...
(Assuming your running vista & keep photos in your pictures area).

1)Start (windows Flag)>Top Right Pictures>Right click the picture and Select Open With...And Point/Click to PAINT
2)Image is now showing in paint
3)At the top click image & then resize skew
4)Adjust the Horizontal and Vertical resize as necessary (I like 25% on most of my photos and they work just fine for the forum...so I enter 25 in the first 2 boxes and click save ((Of course I only use copies of my actual photos for this so it doesn't ruin my initial pictures))
5)Now go back to where you stored the picture by browsing for it through here and simply add the file and submit and your all done.

I think Anthony meant to put this here...so doing it for him :)
BMP files are normally far too large to bother with. JPG, JPEG, and GIF are the best formats to use on the forum.

    Re: How To Post Pictures.

Doesn't storing file as a attachment eat up a huge amount of storage on the websites server?
I know this is not as big a problem as it was just a few short years ago.

    Re: How To Post Pictures.

Yep. The photo folder on my server is by far the largest part of the forum. Even with all the photos I still have plenty of room left.
