Lemon..the only background I have on any of our numerous tanks would be brown oil paint on white partical board. then I stuffed a bunch on Maine slate and river rocks in there as an overhang cliff effect...thats it thats all mate!

I like the cliff effects with the slate! That looks great! (still am a fan of SA biotopes) but for Africans yours is great...

I was wondering about the brown background... I strangely like it! I could not tell if you painted the tank or what... Brown paint on particle board is what that is?

Funny enough Lemon...the brown is actually much darker in person.

Kim wanted it brown..and I ablidged.

Our walls behind the tank..well in our livingroom and bedroom are a tan color.

Me myself would like a solid rockwall, Kim is not as enthusiastic as I am however..well actually not at all. :|

The rock wall would be really nice.... would make the African tank look authentic!

LOL!!! At first look we took him for a Red Empress, then we were like...hey! We are picking up his females tomorrow from the breeder. That way he can spawn. Him and the male Nimbochromis venustus are so ready to spawn. The male Venustus has 3 females already and one of them he has spawned with so it is a matter of time for sure.
