What is happening to my Mystery Snails?!

    A few days ago i noticed the little brown cap that the snail usually have fell off.
    But he was still moving so i thought nothing of it.

    Yesterday the snail was fine, today i check and the shell seems to be very white not a yellow tint as usual.

    so i grab it and the shell is empty!

    I looked around but there is no snail/slug.

    The second mystery snail is still alive and moving around but the shell is slowly turning black....

    what is happening to my snails?!

    Hmm lets start with the basics what are your water parameters, have you added anything with copper in it to the tank EVER and what are the other inhabitants of the tank?
